To visualize a modified design intent based on the case study chosen Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. / Foster + Partners, Chat GPT - DALI was used. This Generative AI tool allowed a selected image to be modified based on prompts to achieve a desired image.

The design intent is to transform the original undulating canopy surface with a diagonal grid into a polygonal canopy surface with a triangular grid. Following the original design that was influenced by the position of eight supporting columns. Chat GPT - DALI helped generate 6 images used as a reference to create a parametric model using Grasshopper and Rhino modeling. The generated images that were most successful in depicting the design intent were image project1_AI_image3 and project1_AI_image6 .
